Small Business Directory Expert Says Standing Out is Key

An expert in local marketing stresses the importance of making local business listings stand out in order to attract new customers.

Arroyo Grande, CA, United States - February 14, 2018 /PressCable/ —

Local business directories have taken the local business culture by storm, but one expert in the field says that unless a small business listing stands out, it may not do much good.

“Too many people are under the impression that all they have to do is create a local business listing and then sit back and wait for the new customers to walk through the door,” says a spokesman from FindUsLocal.com, a free small business directory that utilizes GEO location technology to match the results visitors see with their location. “But if business owners want to reap the maximum results, they need to refine their listings a little.”

He says that in order to create a free business listing that brings in new business, it has to give shoppers the information they need to make a decision about whether or not to visit the store. “Everyone know that they should include their business name, address, phone number, and website, what about the other details that make a local business unique?”

He suggests including things like the hours of operation, special products or services that are unique to the business, menus if it’s a restaurant, and even parking tips to make it easier for shoppers. “The more information you can include, the more likely it is that shoppers will find their way to your store,” he says.

He also says it’s important to keep the small business listing fresh because if it goes stale, it won’t keep its place in the search engine rankings. “The higher a local business listing is in the rankings, the more potential customers will see it,” he says. “And one of the best ways to keep it up there is to continuously ask customers to leave an online review for your business. Once they do, the search engine spiders consider it fresh content, and that helps with the rankings.”

Finally, he wants to remind local business owners that creating a local business listing on a USA small business directory is free. “There’s no reason for small business owners to have to spend thousands of dollars in

" target="_blank">local marketing just to compete with larger stores,” he says. “And that’s why we’ve made our local business listings free to all local shop owners.”

Ex-White House aide says Trump trying to silence her

NEW YORK — Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman declared Tuesday that she "will not be silenced" by President Donald Trump, remaining defiant as her public feud with her former boss appeared to shift to a possible legal battle. In an interview with The Associated Press, Manigault Newman, who is promoting her new book about her time in Trump's orbit, said she believes the president's campaign organization is trying to keep her from telling her story. She commented just hours after Trump's campaign announced it was filing an arbitration action against her, alleging violations of a secrecy agreement she...

Kansas governor concedes GOP primary to secretary of state

Aug 15, 2018

WICHITA, Kan. — Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer conceded Tuesday evening in the state's Republican gubernatorial primary, saying he will endorse Secretary of State Kris Kobach a week after their neck-and-neck finish threatened to send the race to a recount. Colyer accepted defeat in a surprise announcement after a review of some provisional ballots from most Kansas counties failed to find enough votes for him to overcome a deficit of 110 votes at the time of poll closing in the Aug. 7 primary, out of more than 311,000 votes initially counted. Kobach, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump, has seen...
